COUNTY WELFARE PROPOSAL
CSAC and CWDA have a proposal on welfare reform. The
proposal, as a narrative, can be found at the CSAC home
page, http://www.counties.org, and then click on "welfare
reform" in the right-hand frame.
The proposal, as a bill, is SB 933 (Thompson).
The CSAC/CWDA proposal is one of four currently on the table
for discussion: it joins the governor's, the proposal from
the legislative analyst, and the proposal of a coalition of
children's, anti-poverty, religious, and labor groups led by
the Western Center on Law and Poverty (which, in bill form,
is SB 1232, Watson).
